Hello, I’m a charge nurse in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. I’m in charge of getting together bereavement packets for parents whose child does not survive despite all of our efforts.
When we have a loss, we fix up a memory box. We are always looking for comforting items to include for these families. Can you help us with hand-crafted baby blankets? Crochet, knit, quilt, fleece ~ all are welcome. We like to include a stuffed animal as well.
Other items that we include in the memory boxes are these:
~~ baby name bracelet
~~ pictures of the infant in a gown
~~ the gown the pictures were taken in
~~ molded imprints of the infant's hands, feet, and face
~~ footprint card
~~ tiny diaper with footprints
~~ blood pressure cuff or items that belonged to the infant
~~ prayer cards
~~ support group info packet
~~ grief information
Bereaved parents truly appreciate the memory boxes. I hope that you are able to help us with the blankets and stuffed animals.
Please send your items to
